What is Daftary?
Daftary is an independent site offering free calculators for everyday needs: financial tools like loans, savings and VAT; Islamic tools like Zakat, inheritance and expiation; and general tools like unit conversion and date differences. Every tool runs directly in your browser, with no sign-up and no fees.
Why we built it
Many online calculators ignore calculations that matter to Arabic-speaking and Muslim users, such as the Zakat threshold based on gold and silver, Islamic inheritance shares, or the Hijri calendar. We wanted one clear place for these tools, in both Arabic and English, with plain explanations.
How we build the calculators
- Each tool uses the standard formulas and rules for its calculation, and the method is explained below the tool.
- For Islamic rulings, we follow the position held by the majority of scholars and note significant differences of opinion where they exist.
- We review every tool before publishing it and fix any error reported to us.
