How is the weighted percentage calculated?
Each university gives each of the three scores a weight and adds them up:
Weighted percentage = (high school × its weight) + (Qudurat × its weight) + (Tahsili × its weight)
Example with 30%, 30% and 40% weights: high school 95, Qudurat 80, Tahsili 85 → (95 × 0.3) + (80 × 0.3) + (85 × 0.4) = 28.5 + 24 + 34 = 86.5%.
Example of a university’s weights (1448 AH admission guide)
| University | High school | Qudurat | Tahsili |
|---|---|---|---|
| Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University | 30% | 30% | 40% |
These are Imam University’s weights from its official 1448 AH admission guide. Other universities’ weights differ by university and track (health, science, humanities) and can change from year to year, so check your university’s current admission guide, choose “Other weights” and enter them.
How do I use the target percentage?
If you haven’t taken Tahsili yet, enter your high school and Qudurat scores and the percentage your programme needs; the calculator shows exactly what you need in Tahsili, which gives you a clear goal while you study.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are these weights fixed every year?
No. Universities can change them from year to year or use different weights for different colleges, so always check the official admission guide for the year you apply and adjust the weights here if needed.
What if I have more than one Qudurat or Tahsili score?
Universities usually take your highest valid score (scores are typically valid for five years), but check your university’s rules.
My weighted percentage is high. Am I admitted?
Not necessarily. Each programme has a minimum score that depends on that year’s applicants. Compare your percentage with previous years’ admission scores to get an idea.
Where do I get my high school percentage?
Use the percentage on your high school certificate or in the Noor system. If your certificate shows a GPA out of 4 or 5 instead, use the official conversion table in your university’s admission guide, since conversions differ.
Why does it say my target isn’t possible?
Because the Tahsili score you would need is above 100. Consider a programme with a lower cutoff, or a university whose weights favour high school and Qudurat if those are your stronger scores.
