Saudi school holidays 1448 (2026–27)
The 1448 school year started on Sunday 23 August 2026 with two semesters. These are the holidays for all regions except Makkah, Madinah, Jeddah and Taif (first and last day off):

In the original calendar the autumn break runs from 20 to 28 November and the mid-year break from 8 to 16 January. The Ministry later announced four long-weekend days (25 October, 29 November, 7 January and 11 April), so the autumn break now runs to 29 November and the mid-year break starts on 7 January. Makkah, Madinah, Jeddah and Taif
These cities follow a special calendar because of the Hajj and Umrah seasons: school started a week later (Sunday 30 August 2026), the Eid al-Adha holiday is longer (Friday 30 April to Saturday 22 May 2027), and the summer holiday starts at the end of school on Thursday 1 July 2027. Of the long weekends they get only 25 October; the other holidays are the same. Choose the region in the first box and the calculator adjusts the dates.
How the countdown works
It counts down to the end of the last school day before the holiday, in Riyadh time. For example, the autumn break starts on Friday 20 November, so the last school day is Thursday 19 November; on 30 September that is 51 days away. During a holiday the countdown switches to the day school returns.
