How to finish the Quran in Ramadan
The mushaf has 604 pages in 30 juz, about 20 pages per juz. To finish once in 30 days, read one juz a day, which is 4 pages after each prayer. If Ramadan has 29 days, the planner spreads the pages over the real length of the month, so the portion is about 21 pages a day.
- Two khatmas: 40 to 42 pages a day, or a little over 8 pages after each prayer.
- One khatma in the last ten nights: 3 to 3½ juz a day (about 60 pages if the month has 30 days, or 67 if it has 29, when the last ten are 9 days).
- Choose “Whole juz” if you want each day to start at the beginning of a juz, or “Equal pages” for the same amount every day.
- Tick each day you finish and the planner shows your progress. If you miss a day, choose “A number of days I choose”, enter the page you stopped at and the days left, and it spreads the rest again.
The virtue of reading the Quran
The Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever reads a letter from the Book of Allah receives a good deed, and a good deed is multiplied tenfold” (Tirmidhi 2910, who graded it hasan sahih gharib; al-Albani graded it sahih). And Jibril (peace be upon him) would meet the Prophet ﷺ “every night of Ramadan and study the Quran with him” (Bukhari 6, Muslim 2308).
Frequently Asked Questions
How long should it take to finish the Quran?
The Prophet ﷺ told Abdullah ibn Amr: “Read the Quran in a month”, and when he said he could do more: “Then read it in seven, and do not do more than that” (Bukhari 5054, Muslim 1159). Some of the early Muslims finished in less during Ramadan; what matters is reading with reflection and consistency.
How many pages are in a juz?
In the Madinah mushaf 24 of the 30 juz are 20 pages, a few are 19 or 21, and the last (Amma) is 23. The planner works in whole pages, so when a juz begins mid-page the portion starts at the top of that page. That is why a day in “Whole juz” is 19 to 23 pages rather than an equal amount. When there are fewer days than juz (such as a 29-day Ramadan), one day gets two juz (about 40 pages).
Is Ramadan 29 or 30 days?
The planner takes the length of Ramadan from the Umm al-Qura calendar. Moon sighting can shift the month by a day, so if Ramadan turns out to be 30 days, choose “A number of days I choose” and enter 30.
Where are my ticks saved?
Only in your device’s browser; we never see or collect them. Changing the period or the number of khatmas starts a new plan with its own ticks.
